ORDINARY IS NO PLACE TO BE...

As part of my creative development and research ive chose to look at probaly one of my favourite directors 'Spike Jonze'
He's the man behind such things as 'Where the wild things are', 'Being John Malkovich', 'Adaptation', some of the bets music videos around & of course he's the co creator of jackass.
First off heres one of my favourite music videos of his...

This video is one of the reaosons i love Jonze's work, some things that particulary stick out to me
> The Sort of dreamy effect
> Its offbeat but fits perfectly?
> The simple story telling behind it.
>The lighting, hue & simplicity of the shots.

He's seems to have all theses characteristics in all of his videos.
In fact on www.imdb.com they write down his trademarks as being

'[Off-beat] His films/music videos are off-beat in their visual storytelling, particularly their mix of live-action, animation, and puppetry.

Seamless integration of special effects into live-action photography' '

Which i think is definetly the case...anyways the peice of film i just see which jump started me into looking into him more is the trailers for his new short film 'Im Here' which premiered at the sundance festival yesterday i think?
Heres a Description of it from the net & the trailer itself...

'The short stars Andrew Garfield as a library assistant who plods through an ordinary life in LA until a chance meeting opens his eyes to a the power of creativity and ultimately, love. When this new life and love begin to fall apart, he discovers he has a lot to give. This short film proves that ordinary is no place to be. It's essentially a robot love story which, from the mind of Spike Jonze, means it's probably brilliant. This trailer looks wonderful and I can't wait to see it'

I think this is amazing, again it has his almost sort of dreamy affect to the video, and a sort of personal feeling that draws you too...im qutie crap at explaining to be honest, i dont know what it is...you decided
Also heres the website for the short film, thats just as sick.
www.imheremovie.com

To finish up im gonna post three more videos of his...one is the critically acclaimed skate video 'Fully Flared' & the other is the trailer for 'Where The Wild Things Are'...& finally the weird, messed up, short film involving kanye west...theres alot of veiws and stuff on this and to reasons why it was meant to be taken down, watch to the end

SPIKE JONZE INTERVEIW...

also i might have a small music video in the pipeline...
